Number Plates FAQ

1. How long can I expect to wait for my number plates?

We begin working on your plates pretty much as soon as we receive the order. Under normal circumstances, number plates are despatched the same or next working day from us receiving your order.

2. I do not see the size I require, can you accommodate?

If our site cannot give you the size you want then we're here for you. Give us a call on 01-8740626 (office hours) or e mail us by clicking on Contact. We will be happy to assist you. Be advised, we are happy to create a plate at the size you require but may not be road legal.

3. Can I supply my own artwork for inclusion?

Sorry, no. If what you're after is not shown on our site then we cannot help you.

4. Are you able to make the old black/silver number plates?

Yes we make both acrilic and pressed vintage plates as they used to be in the old days. In the UK, only vehicles which were made prior to 1973 are permitted to show black/silver number plates, so you have been warned. To order black & silver, black & red, or black & yellow number plates the range we have is very comprehensive on this web site. Call us on 01-8740626 (office hours) and we will be pleased to assist you.

5. Will my number plates arrive pre-drilled?

No they will not. All vehicles have their fitting holes in different places and for this reason we do not pre-drill your number plates. We always recommend that you use the self tapping screws & sticky pads from our online shop. When ordering number plates or frames or both don't forget to order  screws & sticky pads.
 
6. How long do I have to cancel my order?

number plates are a bespoke item and are made especially for you and nobody else. At German Pressed Plates, to ensure that we keep our customers happy with rapid delivery times, we start on an order as soon as it is received. Because of this it is not possible to cancel or amend an order which has been placed on either the internet or the telephone. You should be sure when placing an order that you do in fact wish to place one and that you place it correctly using all the correct details. If you notice that your order may be incorrect please phone immediately 01-8740626 to see if may be possible to rectify this!!!

7. Can I pay you by cheque?

Sorry folks, we work at speed to achieve a rapid turn around of our number plates. Accepting cheques just slows the whole thing down through waiting for them to clear through the bank. For this reason, our plates, frames and accessories may only be ordered with a credit/debit card through our online  shop.

8. Will you make English GB plates with an illegal spacing?

To mis-space or mis-represent the digits on number plates is an offence under the UK Road Vehicles (Registration & Licensing) Regulations 1971. Be sure to enter your registration number correctly when ordering to apply by this regulation.

9. Do you ship your number plates and frames to the UK and Europe?

Yes we ship to Europe and Northern Ireland and also to England, Scotland or Wales but since Brexit came into effect we can only accept Bank Transfer Payment and also your order will be subject to import duties. We have shipped our number plates and frames to many countries around world. Please call us with your enquiry or e-mail. If you are calling us from outside Ireland then please do so on 0044 1 8740626 (Within Irish office hours - Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm) and we will be more than happy to help.

10.  Can you show the German font Characters that you use in  the German pressed plates?

Sure in the bottom right hand corner of this page  you can view the German Number Plate  Characters.We also have the 0 Zero & 9 Nine that is fully closed without the cut outs but please specify when making your order that you require the closed  0 Zero or 9 Nine closed if these are your preferance.

11. Can I collect Number Plates / German Plates and Frames from your premises in Dublin?

Yes all orders made with us can be collected at our premises here in Dublin's City Center.We post out all plates and frames that day on any order processed before 12noon Monday to Friday.

12. Are you new to the registration  number plate business like so many now dabbling at anything that turns a euro?

No, you can be assured we have been more than 50 years in the  number plate business here in The Republic of Ireland from manufacturing plates and associated components to being a leading supplier of European plates , German Plates,German  Pressed Plates,UK Plates,Vintage Plates,Classic Plates, Retro Plates, Jap Plates, USA Plates, Motorcycle  Plates ,Motor Cycle Vintage  Plates, Truck Plates  & Tractor Plates

Plates that are ordered through this site may not fully comply with requirements for use on public roads. We accept no responsibility when using any of the plates ordered through this site on public roads  in the Republic of Ireland or any other Country if they do not comply with the Laws of that country.
Please refer to Irish Plate law to clarify this requirement for Irish number Plates. For any other country's number plate legislation ,please  check what is required by the law of that land.
 Standard UK plates are manufactured to BS AU 145d standard and comply with UK road use.

Purchaser agrees to hold harmless and indemnify Nowplates for any liability incurred as a result of the purchaser's unauthorised use of any material contained in plates and frames including but not limited to use of logos in violation of any right of the copyright or trademark holder of such logos. Please contact us and we will immediately remove your logo from this site if you do not wish your logo displayed.
